About Me
Creating art in the form of cartoons and humorous illustration has been an amazing journey for me. Growing up with two brothers had me trading in Barbies for MAD Magazine. I was captivated by the artwork of Mort Drucker, Jack Davis, Don Martin and of course Sergio Aragones. Even as a child I found the combination of artwork and humour fascinating. It wasn't until years later when a serious illness forced me to leave University that I returned to drawing. From the moment an editor laughed out loud at my cartoons, I was hooked. My daily newspaper panel, "Day to Day", ran for seven years and resulted in two successful collections, Day to Day and Surviving Day to Day distributed by Thomas Allen & Son Ltd.
My passion for humor and versatility in style has taken my work into book illustration,
character design, whimsical fashion illustration and fabric design. I have been cartooning and illustrating professionally for 16 years and am a member of the National Cartoonist's Society and The Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. My husband, Derrick, and I have been laughing together for twenty years. We have two beautiful daughters, Jaime and Krista, who have recently left the nest. I work from my home studio in Atlantic Canada and my adorable "assistants" are my cat, Peek, and our yellow lab, Curtis.
